A wave of gambling regulations slammed the world and resulted into a big resistance. Players are no more buying the “we did the regulations to protect you” talk… And yes, protection is important, but players soon discovered there is a price to pay.
The list of negative impacts due to regulation
Besides many positive features such as protection of vulnerables, some players started to feel decepted. In many regulated regions the following complaints started to resonate:

- extra fees on sportsbook stakes – up to 6% on the ticket. When you stake 100 EUR, you will be charged 106. This is paid regardless on whether you win or lose
- lover odds – limited competition leaves not much space for real competition resulting in lowering of betting odds
- predatory behaviour towards suppliers – Marketers, influencers in regulated territories are not allowed to promote not licensed gambling operators (fine for promoting up to 500k EUR!). Recently the chain of suppliers is being forced to accept dumping prices.
DeFi is the World’s new direction
DeFi (Decentralized Finance) is the result of local authorities overdoing it. Overdoing what? Basically anything. Starts with the loans and ends with less splendid industries such as gambling or betting.
The negatives of DeFi are quite obvious. There have been many rug pulls and many people lost fortune on that. If you have some crypto in your eWallet, it is just a matter of time till you see some scam attempts. (I have around 10 scammers DM-ing me after asking a question in a telegram group).
There is nobody protecting your ass. You must be your own guardian and if you screw up, nobody can really help you. The game is over
