Are progressive jackpots really a jackpot?

Have you heard of Jackpot 6000? Have you heard of Mega Fortune slot? If you are a slot player and you don't know them, then you are from a weird country - maybe from the UK. That means it all comes down to volume. While Jackpot 6000 is a local jackpot, Mega Fortune is a progressive one. This means that more casinos are collecting money for one lucky player.

There is however another angle you can look at the issue. Do you think any casino is subsidising the jackpot with their own money? You better sober up. Each jackpot that has been paid out has been funded by players. For each 100 euros won by you, at least 103 had to be lost by somebody else. So don't get too naive. It is a bad thing.

Maybe is roulette the right way

Or maybe not. Of course, roulette is not operating on a jackpot system but there is the same thing that plays against you and that is the theory of probability.
